This guide explains how to add a unique, personalised Birthday Discount Link to your Mailchimp email template.
Please Note: If you haven't yet created your Birthday Automation Flow, please see our setting up your Birthday Automation Flow in Mailchimp article before continuing.
When the Happy Birthday and Mailchimp integration is enabled, a unique BDAYLINK merge tag is created in your Mailchimp audience. This is the merge tag you'll need to include in your email template that will deliver each customer's unique Birthday Discount Link.
Add the Birthday Discount Link
In Mailchimp, open your email template and click into your Button content block.
Paste the following merge tag into the Web address (URL) field:
*|BDAYLINK|*
Remember to save your changes before closing the email editor.
Now, when a customer clicks the button in their birthday email, they'll be directed to their unique Birthday Discount Page known as the Generate Discount Page.
