Happy Birthday app now has the ability to send a customer their birthday email containing a discount code at any time. This is especially useful when a customer has signed up just after their birthday and missed out on receiving a discount.
Please note:
This feature only applies to emails sent out by the Happy Birthday app. It is not available if you are using an integration such as Klaviyo or Mailchimp to send out your birthday emails.
Resend email
If the customer has already been sent an email, but they have contacted you to say it hasn't come through, then you can use our other feature, Resend Email to redeliver a birthday discount email. More details in the article Can I resend a birthday email?
Send email now
You will find this option when clicking on the 3 dot menu to the right of the Members details table, within the main Members view of the app. You may have to scroll to the right to see the 3 dot menu:
When selecting the option you will be presented with a confirmation window. This informs you that by confirming the Send email now option, that the customer will not receive another email within the calendar year, even if they subsequently change their birthdate. This helps to prevent any misuse of the birthday discount feature.
It's also worth noting an example... if their birthday was in May 2022, and you're using this option to send them an email a month later in June 2022, they will receive their next birthday discount email on their actual birthday in May 2023. Not a year from the date of using the Send email now option.
Click on the Yes, send now button and you will see a message on screen stating Birthday email sent.
Please note:
There may be a short period of time before the email arrives. This should be no more than 15 minutes. Please take this into consideration if you are testing the feature.
