Can I resend a birthday email?

The Happy Birthday app has a resend feature that allows you to resend a Birthday email to a Birthday Club member containing their birthday discount code. This is especially useful if you have been contacted by a customer asking where their Birthday email is.

It could be that they accidentally deleted the email, or it ended up in their Spam/Junk folder for some reason.

What is the difference between the Send Now and Resend Email feature?

Let's say that a customer has signed up to your Birthday Club a few days after their birthday and missed out on receiving their email. You can use the Send Now feature to send out their Birthday email even though they missed the scheduled sending day/time.

How does the resend email feature work?

Please note:

This feature only applies to emails sent out by the Happy Birthday app. It is not available if you have an integration such as Klaviyo or Mailchimp sending out your Birthday emails.

You will find the Resend email option when clicking on the 3 dot menu to the right of the customer details within the main Members page of the app. Depending on the size of the screen you are using, you may need to scroll to the right of your Members area to see the 3 dot menu:

When selecting Resend email, you will be presented with a confirmation window. This informs you that by confirming, the customer will receive a birthday email with a new discount code and that the old code will be invalidated:

Click confirm and you will see an onscreen message stating: Birthday email successfully resent:

There may be a short period of time before the email arrives. This should be no more than 15 minutes. Please take this into consideration if you are testing the feature.

For customers that have already received an email, the Last sent column within the Members details table will be populated with the year in which the customer last received their Happy Birthday email.

Clicking on the Members name will open their details which will display a history of birthday emails sent and discount code usage:
