Please Note:

This guide covers how to generate a Klaviyo API Key, which will be required when enabling our Happy Birthday integration with Klaviyo.

For further details on how to enable and complete the Klaviyo integration, please see our article: How to enable the Klaviyo integration

Navigating to the Klaviyo API Key page

Within your Klaviyo account, navigate to settings and select API Keys:

Generating a Klaviyo Private API Key

On the API Keys page, click the Create Private API key button and a new page of options will appear.

The first of which is to give your new Private API Key a name. Use a name that will remind you of what the key relates to, such as "Happy Birthday app integration":

Next, select the access level. We recommend using the Full Access Key option for the integration.

Please Note:

It may be possible to create a limited Custom Key, with Full access for Events. However, if you subscribe customers to specific lists, then Profiles, Lists and Subscription scopes may also be required.

Please get in touch to discuss your store's requirements.

Once the API key scopes have been selected, click the Create button and you will then see a confirmation message that your Private API Key has been created along with the options to either Copy Key or Download (as text):

Important:
Klaviyo will notify you of the following message:
This is the only time this private API key will be visible. Please copy your private key to a secure location, such as a key storage management or password manager.

Now that you have created your Private API key please see the following article on how to complete the integration within the Happy Birthday app: How to enable the Klaviyo integration
