Please note:
This article is aimed specifically at Merchants who wish to send out Birthday Emails via the Happy Birthday app (default). If you are using one of our integrations to send out your Birthday emails, scheduling will need to be handled within the settings of that service.
Happy Birthday provides the option to send out Birthday emails either on the day of a customer's birthday or any number of days before that customer's birthday. It also allows Merchant's to set the time of day when the email should be sent. The time will be based on the timezone of the Merchant's Shopify store.
Email sending schedule
The settings associated with scheduling your birthday email can be found by going to Happy Birthday App → Your campaign and click on the Configure birthday email button.
Within the Birthday campaign editor open the Send time section from the left-hand pane:
Days Before Birthday
By default, the campaign is set to send the birthday email on the day of the Customer's birthday. Change this value to a positive number, for the birthday email to go out that many days before the Customer's birthday.
Please note:
Entering a negative number in this field will not send the birthday email that many days after the Customer's birthday.
Send Time
By default, the send time of the email is set to 10:00 in the morning. The send time is based on your store's timezone. Feel free to change the send time to suit your needs.
