Not all Birthday Club sign-ups are also customers of your Shopify store. They may have visited your store and signed-up to your Birthday Club via your dedicated Happy Birthday Sign-up page, but they may not have purchased from your store yet.

The person who signs up to your Birthday Club therefore, may not already be in your Mailchimp account as a contact. If you'd like to include Happy Birthday sign-ups in your existing Mailchimp marketing campaigns, then you'll want us to push those contacts into Mailchimp for you.

Happy Birthday can send new Birthday Club sign-up details into Mailchimp as contacts. If the contact already exists in your Mailchimp account, then we will just append the date of birth and a Birthday Discount Link to their profile.

Enabling the Mailchimp integration will effectively turn off email sending within the Happy Birthday app, but you will still need to create a Birthday Email Campaign and Email template in Mailchimp.

We have a hidden feature that when enabled, will push new or updated Mailchimp contacts straight into the Happy Birthday app. This is a great way to ask new visitors to join your mailing list and your Birthday Club.

The Happy Birthday app will then push a birthday discount link back to the newly created or updated contact in Mailchimp, ready to use in your Birthday email template. The only requirement is that you have created a birthday field within your selected audience and that it is included in your Mailchimp sign-up forms.
