Can Happy Birthday app auto tag a customers Shopify record with their birth date?
Yes! There is a setting within the app that can auto tag the customers Shopify record with their birth date when they sign-up to your Birthday Club. The customers date of birth can also be appended to their customer note.
Please Note:
Please note, we can only tag customers that have provided their date of birth and have an existing Customer record in your Shopify store.
How can I enable this feature?
Go to Happy Birthday > Your campaign then click on Edit your campaign:
This will open the General Settings on the next page. Click into the Tagging section and then you can enable one or both of the Tag customer records and Add birthdate to customer note options.
A prefix for the tag can also be assigned:
If you have enabled our Yotpo (SMSBump) integration then you will also see the option to Tag customer records with delivery preference, whether that be via Email or SMS.
The format of the tag will be the prefix: followed by the date of birth in the format you have set within the Happy Birthday app. e.g. if you have set the app to capture just the day and month, like this: DD/MM the customer note/tag will read DOB: DD/MM
The format of the Birth date across all of your Birthday sign-up forms can be changed within the Date format field of General settings:
Once enabled, the next customer to sign-up to your Birthday Club will have the Birthday applied to their Shopify customer record as a note or a tag, or both.
Backdating tags or notes for existing members of your Birthday Club
If you would like to apply birth date tags or notes to members that signed-up to your Birthday Club before you enabled the feature, please contact us to submit a request and we will set-up a job to apply them to the corresponding Shopify customer record if one exists in your Shopify store.
