Adding the Happy Birthday app block to a custom page is a great way to give your Birthday Club its own home, with messaging you control, sitting wherever you want it on your store.

This guide covers the modern theme app block. It works on any Shopify Online Store 2.0 compatible theme.

Heads up: app blocks must be added at the template level, not the page level. So either add the block to an existing template, or create a new template that includes it and assign that template to your new page.

In your Shopify admin, go to Sales channels → Online Store → Themes.

Click Edit theme next to the theme you want to update.

The theme editor opens. Select your template, then click + Add section in the TEMPLATE block.

Click Apps and search for Birthday. The Birthday Capture app block will appear, ready to add.

The form is now embedded in your template:

The right-hand panel shows the settings available for the block: title, intro text, button copy, date format, etc:

Once the block is selected, you can also Reposition, Duplicate, Hide, or Remove it from the editor's section menu:

Once you're happy with the placement and copy, click Save:

That's it! the Happy Birthday app block is now live on your chosen template.
